āThese thingsā is a collection of poems and prose by Elizabeth Awori. The author uses the two genres to deliver a great deal of impassioned poetry and coherent prose thematically connected and deeply rooted in personal experience, and general societal themes.
Written in mainly two narrative forms; first person and second person, the book conveys hyper imaginative thoughts, feelings and ideas. The author uses a simple but heartwarming diction combined with exquisitely designed figurative language to tackle complex themes and Ideas such as; love, loss, pain, rejection, sexuality and boundaries, faith, growth, equality, acceptance, among others.
Elizabeth uses snappy description to construct a wave of imagination to provoke a great deal of emotions and feelings of love, nostalgia, melancholy, disappointment, peace and betrayal in the readerās mind. Herā¦
